Matt's Marathon for LOROS

London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Hi Everyone...
To tick another thing off the bucket list, I am stupidly attempting to run the 2018 London Marathon.
However there is one definite positive...I am doing it in support of LOROS.
LOROS is a charity which aims to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure where curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
I must admit that I have been very lucky in life. My friends and family have not had to seek direct help from hospices such as LOROS and as such, when deciding on a charity to support, I found myself a bit undecided.
Having spoken to lots of people about my dilemma, LOROS was the charity which kept coming up. Whether it was someone who's loved one had been helped by LOROS or someone who had heard from others about the great work LOROS does, it was clear that it is a vitally important charity. However, it relies massivley on donations to allow it to keep helping and supporting patients and their families in their time of need.
I started my training in January and have been running 3 times a week. It is getting harder as the weeks go on but to know that it is all in aid of such a great cause really helps me to keep the engine ticking over.
Whatever you can afford to donate is greatly appreciated and will go a long way. Be sure to leave me a message when you donate as it will really help me through the tough months of training I have left.
Thank you!
Matt
