Story
In October 2021 I will be running in the London Marathon to raise money for Anthony Nolan.
Antony Nolan is a charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and altruistic strangers willing to donate their bloom stem cells, to be used in their treatment. For many people with blood cancer, a stem cell donation is their last chance for survival.
I donated blood stem cells seven years ago, and hearing about the recipient's struggle with cancer, chemotherapy, and then finally pinning all their hopes on finding a stem cell donor was incredibly moving. I was so pleased that I could do something to help.
Each day, five more people begin their search for a matching blood stem cell donor. It costs £40 to add each new potential donor to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register, but every new person on the register means another chance for someone to find their lifesaving match.
By donating here, you will be helping to give more people with blood cancer the chance of a finding a match and having a future. Thank you so much for your support!
What's more, if you or someone you know is aged between 16-30, then you or they could join the register and perhaps save someone's life yourself: https://www.anthonynolan.org/help-save-a-life/join-stem-cell-register
