Story
Anyone who knows me knows I love my running, and this year I wanted to set my most ambitious goal yet. My target is to run the Northumberland Coastal Path in its entirety from South to North, from Cresswell to Berwick upon Tweed.
The route is around 100km (62 miles) in total and, to the knowledge of myself and the communications officer of the official website, has never been officially completed in one go before.
I couldn't think of preparing such a challenge without considering fundraising and I've decided to do this on behalf of my friend Ellie who works tirelessly to make the world a better place. Ellie's brother James was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is why I'll be running for Action Duchenne.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle damage and weakness, there is no known cure. Action Duchenne strive to fund for therapies for DMD and ensure an inclusive society where disability is accepted and barriers are broken.
I'll be looking to post updates regarding my training, with the aim to complete the run itself on Saturday 14th August 2021. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and if you would like to be involved in my challenge in any capacity, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
