Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 25 June I will be taking part in the Path to Possibilities Race for Change 2011. this is a 10km run in the beautiful (i'm told) surroundings of Trent Park in North London. Those of you who know me (presumably anyone visiting this page) know that i am not, by any means what you would call a natural runner and so know how much pain I will be going through at this event (and with the training). Therefore you must also appreciate how important the work of the charity I am supporting must be to me as it takes a lot to get me out running, particularly on a saturday morning! Should I survive the experience, I promise to provide an update on how it went and i hope you will be willing to sponsor me, doesn't matter how much. Details of the charity are below:
A few years ago a good friend of mine set up a charity to help with a very good cause. The charity is called Path to Possibilities, I attach the link below but basically the charity is trying to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people in Nigeria. A large part of this is through sponsorship of secondary education for poor but bright children, and also by campaigning to improve the education system and share best practice teaching with schools. The current economic situation makes things very difficult for all charities, but small ones in particular are struggling in the face of the recession, and there are some very bright little children who depend on this particular charity to give them opportunities for the future for themselves and their whole families.
