Story
Access Sport is on a mission to help the UK get back to physical and mental health and wellbeing this summer. I have set myself 3 challenges for the Summer to help raise much needed funds to help give young people the chance to get involved in sport.
- Challenge #1 Cycle the 208 miles (330KMs) across the UK in daylight hours on a single day.
4 of us will be setting off on 19th June at the sunrise (04:44am) which will give us 16hrs 35mins to complete the cycle
- Challenge #2 Swim the length of Lake Windermere 10.5 miles (17km) on 14th August
- Challenge #3 run the London Marathon 26.2 miles (42KMs) on 3rd October
As we emerge from lockdown and witness a summer of elite sport from UEFA Euro 2020 to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Access Sport want to help get the nation active, including the thousands of disabled and disadvantaged young people who even prior to Covid-19 were denied opportunities in sport. To do this, the charity are supporting a series of events and activities that everyone can get involved with, to join in the fitness drive while raising money to help Access Sport create new opportunities where they are most needed. All money raised will enable Access Sport to help create new sports opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled young people who would otherwise not have the chance to play
