Story
Hello everyone, daylight shavings is finally upon us! This year all the Cassidy boys have decided to grow a mo' in support of a great charity very close to our hearts.
My Dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma back in March 2020 just as the pandemic started. After the shock news and finding out who to turn to for help, my Dad got massive support from Mesothelioma UK after contacting them.
Mesothelioma is an incurable cancer, caused by exposure to asbestos. Symptoms can take decades to develop and are usually responded to using traditional methods, i.e. radiotherapy/chemotherapy. New treatments are being developed all the time but it's the better known cancers (Lung, Prostate etc) which get more funds and coverage. Mesothelioma UK is the only charity supporting sufferers and due to the recent pandemic, resources and grants have been non-existent.
Mesothelioma UK is the national charity for anyone affected by
mesothelioma. They exist to support people with mesothelioma to live
better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations. They do this by advocating for better treatment and care, enhancing quality of life, supporting research and amplifying the patient’s voice.
We found out that voluntary donations were a large part of their income, so we have decided again to take part in Movember to raise money for the excellent support they have been providing since his diagnosis.
All donations are very much appreciated and here's to looking like complete tw**s by the end of the month!
