Story
Unfortunately, due to the current Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, the Cadbury Athletic Juniors football teams are unable to play or even train together for the foreseeable future.
Rather than sit around and feel sorry for ourselves, as a Football Club we want to do something together to thank our fabulous NHS for the hard work and dedication they provide each and every day to look after and support us.
Whilst we aren’t able to play football, we can keep ourselves fit and active.
Throughout Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May, our older boys will be running 5km, and our younger boys 1-2km, to try and raise as much money as possible for our wonderful NHS. We’ve even roped the parents in to run with them....
At this stage, we don’t know how far in total we’ll run but aim to run over 200km as a Club.
To comply with social distancing, this won’t be a 200km run together!! It’ll be a series of 1-2km and 5km runs in a relay continuously throughout the 3 days in May. Each boy, accompanied by a parent, will take turns to complete their run and we’ll then post their completion photo on the Cadbury Athletic Juniors Facebook page. This will trigger the next boy to start running.
By the end of the weekend, the Club will hopefully have raised lots of money for a very worthwhile cause.
If you are able to make a donation, however small (or big!!) to support our boys in their running, and more importantly our NHS, it’ll be greatly appreciated.......
Thanks ever so much for reading.....I’m off for a training run!!
Best wishes and stay safe
Matt Adams (Vice-Chairman Cadbury Athletic Juniors)
