*Update 25/4* It’s all over!! Finished in 4 hours 50 minutes, very pleased with that given how training went! Thank you everyone so much for the donations, blown away by everyone’s generosity and we’ve massively exceeded the original target. Really appreciate it. Now time to rest some very achey legs! Matt x
*Update 21/4* Thanks so much for everyone's incredible donations so far! It means so much and I really appreciate it. My bib number is 15652 for anyone tracking on the app. Training has not gone particularly well (dodgy knee & a bowel complication from surgery) but very excited to take part and enjoy the atmosphere! Thanks again.
Hello! I am running (/walking) the London Marathon, and am very pleased to be raising money for the University College London Hospitals (UCLH) charity.
I was diagnosed with Bladder and Prostate Cancer in October 2021, and had surgery at UCLH in January 2022. They removed the offending organs and created a neobladder which has been very successful. I wanted to do something to thank the UCLH doctors and nurses who were fantastic both during my stay and afterwards, providing important support during the complications that arise.
The money raised will go directly to the UCLH Urology-Oncology department. It will specifically help the highly skilled nurses to continue providing world class care by supporting their training and research that will improve outcomes for patients at UCLH and across the country. The NHS needs and deserves support more than ever!
If you're able to donate any money I'd really appreciate it!
