Fundraising for Stroke Association
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page which is in support of the Stroke Association and my endeavor to complete in the 2015 Outlaw Half Triathlon on 31 May 2015 in memory of my father, Les Allsop, who in June 2007 (at the age of 57 and with no prior warning) suffered a stroke from which he would never recover. He passed away a week later.
Dad was a keen swimmer in his youth and so it seems appropriate to pay tribute to him by undertaking a challenge, which I think, he would have relished. Well, I say that but whilst he might have enjoyed the swim, I'm not so sure he would have been daft enough to then jump on the bike and finish off with the run ;o)
This is a Ironman distance triathlon event consisting of;
1.2 miles/1.9km - Open Water Swim
56 miles/90km - Cycle Ride
13.1 miles/21km - Run
The Stroke Association provides valuable advice and support not only for stroke sufferers but also for those that care for stroke sufferers
