Story
I am participating in the "29 Miles in February" challenge to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK.
Today, there are nearly a million people across the UK living with Alzheimer's. That number is expected to double in the next 16 years.
Over the years, I've known of people who have suffered from Alzheimer's disease and dementia. It's a debilitating, dehumanising disease that we still desperately need to understand - for the sake of those with the disease, as well as their family and friends.
By taking the small step of walking 29 miles in 29 days, I hope that I will be helping to raise awareness of the disease as well as raising much-needed funds.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the charity leading the search for a cure and they will keep going until everyone is free from the heartbreak of dementia.
Please support my fundraising efforts by making a donation to my page, and you could help towards finding a cure for dementia.
- £20 could fund one hour of ground-breaking research.
- £50 could provide access to specialist equipment to study cells.
- £250 could pay for a genetic test to help identify dementia risk genes.
Thank you.
