Story
This March I will be taking part in the 7-day from London to Cannes in the South of France, circa 1438km/900miles on behalf of the London office of Perkins&Will!
The route will follow:
London - Folkstone 116km
Calais - Soissons 264km
Soissons - Auxerre 237km
Auxerre - Chalon 196km
Chalon - Valence 255km
Valence - Greoux-les-Bains 210km
Greoux-les-Bains 160km
The cycle is being hosted by Club Peloton, and will be raising money towards four charities;
- Coram Adoption - assisting children to find homes and post-adoption support
- Cyclists Fighting Cancer - focusing on children fighting cancer
- Multiple System Atrophy Trust - supporting families of this condition
- Tom Ap Rhy Price Memorial Trust - tackling the root cause of violent street crime
Any amount you can donate will help in going towards supporting the various work that the charities above do - a highlight of some recent projects below;
- Recruiting families for 1150 children waiting longer than 18 months to find adoptive homes
- Assisting 500 families with post adoption support
- Awarding 800 bikes, tandems and adapted trikes to children and young people affected by cancer
- Supporting research to illustrate the relationship between physical and mental well-being and physical activity in children surviving cancer
- Tackling the root cause of violent street crime through 18 various projects
- Assisting the children of 27 families living with a loved one with MSA
Club Peloton (clubpeloton.org) is the charity and real estate cycling community transforming the lives of young people. Since 2006, it has given £4.5 million in grants to projects that make a real difference.
Cycle to MIPIM is Club Peloton's original endurance fundraising ride that brings together cyclists of all abilities to ride, network and fundraise. Every year, riders from across the property industry complete the 1,438km challenge from London to Cannes, arriving in time for MIPIM, the leading international real estate fair.
All ride support costs have been captured and covered by my employer Perkins&Will.
