Story
402.58 km cycled in September
From the 1st - 30th September AVR London are attempting to cycle 2500km to raise money for a variety of wonderful charities (that's the equivalent of cycling the entire length of the country there and back, from Eastbourne on the South coast to Dounreay at the top of Scotland!)
Our lives have changed dramatically over the last year, and the way we work, commute and interact has changed. Just because we can't all be together as an office, we didn't want to let that stop us raising money for charity, so we wanted to find something we could all do whether we were in the office or not. And not to mention great for getting fit at the same time! We'll be cycling to and from the office, after work, doing weekend trails, and even cycling from London to Brighton! (just once, there's only so much our legs can take!)
Our aim is to raise at least £1500 for the wonderful charities listed on our page. We understand it's been a hard year financially for many people, so whatever you can spare is very much appreciated by us all here, and will be making a difference to those that receive our donations.
Thank you from everyone at AVR London

The charity I will be cycling for is Action Duchenne, a charity which does excellent work and is close to our family as many of you will be aware.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy affects around 2,500 people in the UK, with the vast majority being male. Mutations, or changes, in the dystrophin gene stop the body making a vital muscle protein and over time this causes muscles to weaken and waste away.
The first signs of Duchenne happen in the early years of life and it is usually diagnosed around 4 years old. The condition reduces life expectancy to an average of approximately 30 years and it has no cure.
Any donation you can spare would be amazing, and will be warmly received by Action Duchenne.
