Story
Hi and thanks for visiting my page.
Given that you are here you are probably aware that I have signed up to run the 2024 London Marathon for Leukaemia UK! I am doing so in memory of a very special friend, Jacob.
Jacob was diagnosed with Leukaemia at a young age and after a brave and courageous fight sadly died in 2010, aged 12.
Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Jacob will undoubtedly remember what a kind, charismatic, and inspirational young man he was. He had the most infectious, cheeky grin and a personality that would fill any room.
We were fortunate enough to live on the same street and I will forever cherish everyday that I was lucky enough to spend with him - especially the weekends and school holidays when we would play in the garden all day long. I think Jacob’s favourite part was the snack breaks which usually consisted of a packet of cheese and onion crisps! We made so many amazing memories that I will never forget and would do anything for one more of those big hugs.
Throughout everything he went through his smile and bravery never faded. He remained the amazing person that so many of us knew and loved. I wanted to do something in his memory and to raise money for a charity supporting people going through similar battles to Jacob's.
Any donations are massively appreciated and will help the work that Leukaemia UK undertake. Thank you for reading my story and feel free to share and spread the word!
