Hello! My Name is Matt. I’m running my first half marathon to raise money and awareness for the amazing people at Open Heart International.
      I’m a doctor myself and have cared for children after open heart surgery in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. The incredible people at Open Heart International fly to countries where children simply don’t have access to open heart surgery and often will die without help. Open Heart bring a small army of people (all volunteers) and resources to evaluate, treat, operate and help recover these children. Having seen the wonderful stories of all the children Open Heart look after, I wanted to do something for them too.
     That’s why I’m running my first 21.1km for Open Heart International. A half marathon is nothing compared to the distances Open Heart will go to help children in need.
