Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 9th of April myself and several friends are taking part in the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Thames Hospice who provided support and care to my sister, Melanie Stuij throughout her illness.
Thames Hospice is the local charity in Berkshire where Melanie lived, who provide expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses. A vital part of their work is also supporting families and carers. It costs £8 million every year to keep the hospice running and able to provide this much needed support to those affected by illness and their families. The hospice relies on the community for over 50% of the funds which have to be raised annually to provide their services free of charge, 365 days a year, to the people who need them.
Melanie sadly lost her battle with cancer on the 1st February 2019. Thames Hospice provided amazing care to Melanie in her last few days and we as a family can't thank them enough.
We are hoping to raise funds in honour of Melanie and to help the hospice provide care to other families. If you could contribute in any way, it would be hugely appreciated by us all. xx
