Story

So as many of you know sadly I lost the old man back in December 2021 after a long battle with cancer which sadly caught up with him. Luckily for him and my family he was in the best place for him for his final week being looked after by the incredible St Luke’s team comfortable and pain free. At the time you don’t really realise it as it happened in a short space of time but reflecting back the not having to worry about that side of things as tough as the time is takes so much pressure of you as a worried scared pre grieving family member. So to help St Luke’s and thank you I’ve decided to try and raise some money for a great and important charity

For more than 35 years we have been providing specialist end of life care and support to people from across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall, whether in the home, hospital or at our specialist unit at Turnchapel. We care for people with serious illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, multiple sclerosis and chronic lung disease, treating any adult over the age of 18. We do all we can to involve patients in decisions about their care, to maintain privacy and dignity in providing that care and to respect patients individual rights and religious and cultural beliefs. Our approach to care is holistic, centred on the needs of the individual patient.
