Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are two junior docs based in Glasgow who in March 2018 will be flying out to Vietnam with our bikes..... and then cycling home.
The journey is approximately 15,000km and we have 5 months to complete the challenge, therefore we need to average over 100Km per day.
We are hoping to raise awareness and funds for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity (formerly Yorkhill Children's Charity). The charity is one that is close to our hearts. Also during our two years as junior doctors we have both seen the massively beneficial effects that this charity has on the young lives of those unlucky enough to be afflicted with illness early on in their lives. Whether it be enabling the purchase of the top of the range surgical equipment or facilitating activities and events for the children to brighten their day.
In terms of our route, we are planning to travel through the following countries: Vietnam, Laos, China, Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ferry across Caspian sea to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle, and finally to Glasgow!
100% of donations made will go to the charity directly, as we are fully self funding the trip which will no doubt be the adventure, and challenge, of a lifetime.
Thank you for your support.
