Story
2 years ago my little brother took his own life after battling with depression for a number of years. By raising as much money as I can for Rethink Mental Illness I want to help other families experiencing what we went through and other people in Jonathan's situation. It is a great help to everyone in my family to see something positive come from the needless loss of Jonathan's life.
Last year I ran the London marathon to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness and managed to raise a fantastic sum due to the generousity of friends, family and work colleagues. I hope to get sponsored for even more this year but decided that in order to justify the appeal I would have to raise my game.
On the 15th of April I will be running the Paris marathon and just 7 days later on the 22nd I will be running the London marathon. Anyone kind enough to sponsor me can rest assured that I will be earning back every penny will blisters, sweat and tears over 52miles and (hopefully) nearly 8 hours of running.
Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that believes a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness. They are the largest national voluntary sector provider of mental health services who directly help almost 60,000 people every year across England. They campaign nationally for policy change and locally for the support people need. They believe strongly, as I do, in fighting the discrimination, ignorance and fear that surrounds mental illness.
