Coast to Coast on behalf of Macmillan and Cancer Research
Commencing on April 25th 2016, Geoffrey Matthew Estates co-founder Matt Dixon, along with Heath Greenall, Chairman and Managing Director of Gates, will be embarking on a Coast to Coast challenge covering 197 miles in 13 days. This means that the pair will cover a distance just short of a marathon each day.
One of England's classic long distance walks, the route starts from the sea cliffs of St Bees on the Irish Sea and finishes in the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay on the North Sea. The route traverses the country passing through three National Parks, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, taking in thirteen different towns and some of England’s best landscapes.
Matt said: “Back in 2014, I took part in the Camino walk which I completed in Spain. I thoroughly enjoyed this walk last time and raised £17,000 for Macmillan. I am a big believer in raising money for charity. I love a challenge in business and personal. My goal is to raise more money this year than previous for my chosen charities. I am very much looking forward to the walk which will challenge my capability." Matt continues "Cancer is very close to my heart and thousands of people around the world. I believe such a small donation could potentially put a stop to the heart breaking illness."
Heath said: "“As well as raising vital funds for charity, this challenge represents a substantial physical test for me personally” said Heath. “Following a serious skiing accident back in 2013, I was lucky not to lose my foot. To be in a position to even consider participating, some three years and several operations later, provides all of the motivation I need.”
Please get involved and support Matt and Heath with their walk, helping them to raise as much money as possible in the community. Every penny counts.
Together we can beat cancer.
