Story
UPDATE. Despite the sore knee, I finished in 4hrs 34mins. Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me. I was delirious (and a little sick, and shivering, and very emotional) after the race and now I ache all over . But I'm looking fwd to an early night tonight.
Dear Friends, family and colleagues,
Despite feeling like I'd been hit by a train after running my last half marathon, I will be taking on the London marathon in April.
I've decided to run for a charity called The Railway Children, partly because as you all know I'm a train fan, but also because they do some fantastic work, intervening early with runaway and street children in the UK, India, Tanzania and Kenya, whilst at the same time working to change the negative perceptions of the children who do end up on the streets. Many of the children are found near railway stations, which in India in particular are focal points for street kids to beg, shine shoes, hang out with one another, and often come into unwanted contact with strangers.
