Thank you for taking the time to find out more and sponsor me.
I am riding with my Dad, Bob, from London's Hyde Park to The Louvre Museum in Paris. Our route will takes us to Dover, crossing into Calais then onto Abbeville, Beauvais and Paris 4 days later, a total of 250miles.
We Start on Saturday 29th May and finish in time for lunch on Tuesday 1st June
While I ride I’m hoping to raise some money for a local Milton Keynes charity, Willen Hospice.
Why Willen?
Willen Hospice is an amazing place with some fantastic people. The care they offer is invaluable to their patients and their patients families. Only 25% of their costs are met through the NHS, the rest comes from generous donations and charitable activities and without them the place simply couldn’t stay open and their care would be lost.
Willen Hospice
is a registered charity (No. 270194) that provides specialist care for people whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment (also known as specialist palliative care).
They work in
Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas and are based at a quiet lakeside area close to the City Centre. They provide care for people from the age of 18 years upwards and care focuses on four key areas -
specialist symptom control
emotional support
spiritual support
care for the carers
Their services are provided 24 hours a day without any cost to the patient or their families. Their support extends beyond the Hospice itself where they care for over 600 patients each year. Their
Day Hospice, Social Care, Community Nursing and Specialist Support teams, Befrienders, Bereavement Support and Carers Group enable them to reach many other patients and families, friends and carers.
Willen Hospice ended the last financial year with a £420,000 shortfall in its budget, so your support is more important then ever.
Thank you for your support
Matt
