Story
Hello,
As some of you may or may not be aware, as a birthday
present to myself this year I have decided to take on another ultra-marathon which will be in Namibia.
https://www.4deserts.com/sahararace/itinerary
Starting April 29th it will take me 7 days to ‘run’ along a 250km route through the Namib desert and along the skeleton coast. The fact that day 6 is called ‘Dune day’ and is over 40kms in length, and falls immediately after the double marathon day (80kms), fills me with immense dread. And for this reason I am asking your generous selves to donate to charity while I put myself through the hurt locker once more.
As some of you may recall I completed a similar race back in 2016 and swore that I wouldn’t do another (a fact which Sally delights in reminding me when I moan about training) so here I go again – Yikes! So while I am running/walking/crawling along the 250kms of Namib desert I implore you to reach deep into those pockets and donate to this worthy charity trying to rid the oceans of plastic. A worthy cause indeed I am sure you will all agree.
If you would like to keep updated on my progress during the race
then follow this blog (which is mainly a way of moaning about camp life in general and complaining about blisters) - https://www.4deserts.com/sahararace/blogs
Believe me, any comments and messages of support are
incredible well received after a long day in the heat! Many thanks in advance for the donations and support, and looking forward to having a few celebratory drinks with you once this beast has been put to bed!
Cheers, Matt x
