Story
The global prevalence of obesity has nearly tripled since 1975. In addition, in 2016, it was estimated that 41 million children under the age of 5 were living with overweight or obesity.
Today, it is recognised as one of the most important public health problems the world is facing. However, since I started for the World Obesity Federation, I have further realised that obesity is a preventable disease and should be recognised as such. The World Obesity Federation supports the definition of obesity as a chronic, relapsing disease. This could substantially lead to reducing individuals' stigma, help change the public discourse and shift the blame away from the individual.
Help me support the World Obesity Federation! Stride towards a healthy world - one step at a time!
