I can't believe it's 20 years since that day in New York when I ran for Macmillan for the first time and began my association with this wonderful team of guys and girls

9/11 was fresh in everyone's minds and there was a real danger the race might not even happen. We were on the start line waiting for the final go ahead

It remains one of the greatest experiences of my life and definitely one of the toughest! I havent ever run a full marathon again just that one time in 2001. (I have done a few halves though!)  But I vowed that year in Central Park to go back 20 years later and try and repeat the full marathon thing again!

Back then I was just about to turn 40. Now it will be 60! I am so lucky to have my health but even I have had a run in with Prostate trouble!!

Particularly after Covid 19 has wrecked so many cancer patients chances of early diagnosis I would say that it's right now that all the cancer charities need our help like never before. I was lucky the docs were right on me from very early on and I am so aware that so many are not as lucky as that.

So if you fancy a chuckle at the agony of me hauling myself around the five boroughs a second time then feel free. Just chuck a few quid in the metaphorical green bucket that Id be rattling under your nose while you laugh!!
