Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run a marathon in memory of my father in law John. He sadly passed away due to COVID-19 just before Christmas. Although only really knowing John for 5 years, we were incredibly close. He was an amazing father figure and I was fortunate to call him my friend.
He was a strong, solid, funny and caring character. As a husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and friend to so many he was one of a kind! He leaves behind an amazing legacy of how to live life well and in its fullness.
He worked closely with PFJ Ministries; a project that he was part of and passionate about was the building of a maternity clinic in Uganda. The building work continues although Covid has delayed progress. Funds are still needed to complete the building work and get equipment in there. The clinic will be named after John in honour and memory of his life.
I have run a marathon before but it’s not a hobby of mine. It was incredibly difficult the first time I ran and I didn’t want to do one again. However, raising funds for a great cause is good enough reason to go the distance. I hope to be able to run along the Wirral Way (pending national/local restrictions) with family and friends running / cycling the total or some of the distance on the day. If I’m unable to complete it in the planned location I still will be running it regardless.
The planned date is Sunday 30th May and I’ve started a bit of training already.
So if you have a few spare quid and would like to donate and help keep us all on track with training it would be much appreciated 😃🏃🏃🏻♀️🏃🏃🏻♀️🚴🏼♂️
