My Nan was a true inspiration in her efforts fighting this horrible disease. Sadly, in April 2018, she lost her 17 year battle. Nan was so well loved and adored by all around her, and despite her struggles, her smile was infectious until the very end.
For me personally, Nan changed my life when she introduced me to the piano when I was 7, shortly followed by the drums (a bit loud sorry Nan). Since then, music has continued to be the centre of my life, and I have made many special friends and memories whilst playing and singing. I never met Nan's husband (Graham), but I have been told many times how much he loved music, and it makes me immensely proud to be continuing on in his footsteps.
Nan supported me in every wacky adventure I took on in life. Now it's time for another one! My colleagues and I will be taking part in a Half-Iron Man on 12th September 2021. A bit nuts considering I haven't run, swam or cycled any of the individual distances in my life. I know that it is going to be incredibly tough, but if I'm half as tough as my Nan, I've got this in the bag.
Love you Nan, keep laughing and smiling!
