Story
I am raising money for the construction of the first dedicated eye hospital in West Africa, and as a challenge I shall commit to walk 1 mile or cycling 5 miles (as a minimum) each day until it opens.
Millions of people in Africa including children, are suffering from a Cataract eye disease. Even in this dire condition they still need to carry on with their normal lives, like walking for miles to fetch clean drinking water. They are at risk of blindness if not cured in time, which is an issue as people are poor with no means.
The project to build and run the Masroor Eye Institute in Burkina Faso is totally self funded and has been totally funded from donations, and will be a state-of-the-art teaching eye hospital. Once complete this will benefit the whole of West Africa providing premium eye treatments for FREE to thousands of patients every year. This hospital will therefore be carrying out a great and lasting service for the African nation. The Hospital is now nearing completion.
I feel very fortunate to live in a country where we have the NHS and so I want to help others that are vulnerable and less fortunate. Every contribution (however little) will have an impact. £50 can save one person from blindness and transform their life.
