My Name is Sam - This is my Story.

On 11th July 2011, I gave birth to my 1st child - A beautiful little boy, weighing 6lb 12oz. We named him Mason & he was perfect in every way, except his little heart was no longer beating.

I discovered Mason had passed away in my womb the day before, following an assessment & emergency scan, after waking with no movement from his usually active little body - I was 5 days overdue. To say that I was devastated, is a understatement!! I'd had a perfect pregnancy & was considered "Low Risk".

So why did this happen? The answer to that is - Nobody Knows! All test results have come back clear & Mason's death is considered a "No known Cause".

Sands is a fantastic Charity that offers support for parents, like myself & amongst many other things, funds research into why this happens so frequently in the UK. So a group of friends & I are going to walk 17 miles, from my work place to the beautiful baby garden, where Mason was laid to rest. That is a mile for every baby that is stillborn or dies shortly after birth everyday in the UK.

We are walking on the 17th May 2012 in Memory of Mason & his Angel friends. Please donate generously.

Updated Feb 2012 - At a recent review I discovered Mason's likely cause of death was Nuchal Cord Compression (His cord was around his neck twice & it's believed to have become too tight when he descended into an engaged position).
