The following message is from my Cousin whom I started the page for.. 

As you may be aware my father passed away on 31st October after battling cancer for almost years. To Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return. May Allah bless him, forgive him and grant him Jannah. 

As you know when we depart from this Dunya it is only our family, loved ones and those we leave behind who can continue our work for us. My Father in the recent months before his passing encouraged us to do as much charity as possible for him. He wanted to help those in need in remote places who have nothing. He wanted to provide something sustainable that would benefit a community. We as a family have decided to raise money and build a masjid in Uganda. We will be raising funds via Unite 4 Humanity. They will build a masjid in a remote village in Uganda which can accommodate up to 200 worshippers at any given time. These facilities will include toilets and ablution access and the place will also provide education space and a hub for community in need. The mosques act as a community hub for locals, as well as a place of worship. People can get together in the masjid and discuss the needs of their community and come up with projects which will benefit the community for years to come.

Furthermore, by building the Masjids in Africa, you will be providing a safe place for children to learn Islamic education and values. There are many other benefits of building Masjid like mentioned above.

· Mosques are Centre of Learning for any community

Building Mosques is one of the best forms of charity. The first thing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did after migrating to Madinah was, build a masjid. The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), said: “Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

Imagine what a Muslim neighbourhood would look like if it did not have a Mosque. Muslims wouldn’t have a place to worship Allah five times a day. Establishing prayer is the second most important pillar of Islam.

A masjid is at the heart of every Muslim community. Firstly, it provides a safe place and environment for the worshipers to pray and contemplate. Secondly, a masjid is the hub of Islamic education especially for children to learn Qur’an. Finally, the mosque helps Muslims learn more about the Islamic way of life and nurture their moral and spiritual development.
