Participants: Will and I are going to be combining this year. Our goal this year is $1500. We are hoping that we can reach our goal. For every $50 we raise our parents will throw a water balloon at us.
St. Johns youth will participate in a 6-week fundraiser, culminating in an overnight empathy event that includes: fasting for up to 30 hours, sleeping outside in a cardboard box, and completing service projects. Proceeds benefit The Lunch Project.

Story

We are participating in our St. John's Episcopal Youth Group's annual Fill The Bowl event, which is a 6-week fundraiser, culminating in an overnight empathy event. On March 6-7,  we will fast for up to 30 hours, sleep outside in a cardboard box, and complete local service projects. Mary this year will be fasting for 40 hours! She will stop eating at 2am Friday morning, and will finish fasting at dinner Saturday night.

Proceeds benefit The Lunch Project, a nonprofit that powers community-driven lunch programs in Tanzania. The Lunch Project is serving 5 schools! (Lemanyata, Engorika, Olkokola, Lengijave, and Olbak) YOU play a crucial part in helping us give kids the fuel to learn, and we are so thankful for your support! It only takes $.10 to feed one kid lunch a day!

About the charity

We power community-driven lunch programs in Tanzania, feeding over 5,000 students at 6 schools. $100 per day provides lunch for an entire school, which breaks down to less than a dime per student. Schools with lunch programs see their average attendance rise and test scores improve.
