Story
***UPDATE*** Time: 2 hours, 7 minutes, 34 seconds...
***UPDATE*** Yesterday (4th September!) , I developed a twingeing pain running up and down my calf and foot, which gave me the severe heebie jeebies about doing this run...But my first half marathon got done! All 13 miles of it. The spectators along the way were fantastic: their encouragement, high-fiving, water-supplying and water-hosing, and endless supply of fruit and sweeties gave most runners the will to carry on.
Thanks to all those who have donated so far, you've been really generous. And if you're still to donate, there is still time!

I may have survived a couple of 10ks, but may have bitten off more than I can chew with a half marathon. Objective: get through this and avoid (permanent) injury...
I am nevertheless determined to complete this run because I am passionate about raising money for two charities* who make a massive difference to asylum seeker and refugee communities. One of these charities is Refugee Survival Trust. Through my work, I am in regular contact with RST, who provide one-off emergency financial assistance for asylum seekers and refugees who may otherwise face destitution, and increasingly for some, street homelessness. They are actively involved in gathering evidence on behalf of this vulnerable group of people to influence procedures at government level. Please visit their site: www.rst.org.uk
