My name is Mary-Jayne Granville, I work as part of the Cardiff & Vale NEPTS Team within the Welsh Ambulance Service and I have chosen to compete in the Swansea 70.3 Ironman to raise funds for The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC).
I joined Pen-y-Bont Triathlon Club in 2018 and in 2019 I completed my first year of racing. This didn’t come easy and I ended the year with an injury after having a heavy crash which made me miss the end of year races. 2020 saw all races cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic so I could only complete a year of training. In 2021 things slowly started to open back up and I did my first race finishing as 3rd female.
When I saw the entry’s come out for Swansea 70.3 Half Ironmanso decided to sign up with the aim to raise funding for TASC, a charity close to my heart and it will be done in memory of a close friend of mine who was a part of the TASC Team, Dorian Williams.
I’d be grateful for any support that can be offered and have set up a just giving page to assist with the fund raising.
