Story
After two years of ACL injury, surgery and prolonged recovery holding me back from being active without restriction - I am ready for an adventure!
When close friends of mine set the challenge of hiking Kilimanjaro (5895m) to raise money for their charity ’SAVING THE SURVIVOR’S - I accepted the challenge! More importantly, I know that any money raised will go to this great cause; treating and caring for endangered wildlife in Africa.
I am determined to reach the summit. Combining rehab with weekly altitude training, I am preparing myself to the best of my ability and hoping altitude won’t get in the way.
Looking forward to sleeping in a tent, on hard surfaces, in cold weather without shower facilities whilst struggling breathing… But hey, It wouldn’t be a challenge if it wasn’t hard right !?!
Thankful for any donations, however big or small 🙏 I am beyond excited (and anxious) - Wish me luck!!!
About the Charity:
Who are Saving the Suvirvors?Saving the Survivors are dedicated to treating and caring for endangered wildlife species. Our main focus is on rhino that have survived poaching attempts, but we also routinely work with cheetah, lion, leopard, African Wilddog, pangolin and elephant. Most of these animals are being treated in the bush in their natural environment, as transporting them is not always possible and is often extremely stressful. We work throughout Africa but we also offer assistance to endangered species worldwide. With your donation you can directly help Saving the Survivors stop the suffering, heal the hurt and give these majestic and endangered survivors hope and a second chance at life. Please Gift Aid your donation if you are a current UK taxpayer. This gives us an additional 25p for every £1 donated at no additional cost to you and makes a huge difference to our fundraising. Thank you for your time and donations.
