The Chris Lucas Trust helps Children and Young Adults by Cancer Research and aims to find a cure for Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer by world-class research. It is the UK's leading Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer charity. Its funds are raised by annual events: Great North Bike Ride, Jingle Bell Walk, Charity Golf, remainder entirely through voluntary donations.

Story

My name is  Martin Lisle i,m going to bike solo unassisted from Perth to Sydney a distance of 4383 km or 2724 miles via Adelaide and Melbourne starting on Australia Day Monday 26 Jan 09. It will be the Australian summer with average temperatures in the 30s and a small matter of crossing the 1287 km, 800 mile Nullarbor Desert. Crossing four states and three time zones. At times camping with the knowledge that the ten most  deadly snakes on the planet all live in Australia along with large spiders that bite but hopefully not in my tent!

All money raised goes to The Chris Lucas Trust my aim is raise one pound for every mile on the bike. I cant do this on my own but with your help it can be a success, together we can make a difference.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have now returned home after my bike ride and would like to thank everyone that helped me raise the total so far, all your kind words of encouragement and generous donations i applaud you. To the people of Australia thank you for the support you showed me on my journey whilst in your country.Martin Lisle April 2009
