On the 28th November 2021 I will be running my first Half Marathon to raise money for The Christie Foundation. In October 2019 one of the people closest to me, Liss Vermeulen, lost her gorgeous Mum to Breast Cancer after a decade long battle. Whilst I only had the pleasure of knowing Cath for a few years, she raised the most incredible family and lives on in the hearts of everyone she knew.

 

The Christie is a world leading cancer care and research facility located in Manchester and played an important role in Cath's care, which is why I chose this charity. It helps to deliver cancer treatment above what the NHS has the capacity to offer, treating 60,000 people annually. To think that 1 in 2 of us get cancer in our lives is a horrifying statistic and an even more devastating reality, so I absolutely want to do anything I can to help better these odds.

 

The money I raise will be donated specifically to Cath's fund for The Christie, and I will be so so grateful to anyone who can donate. No amount is too little ❤️

 

To think that a few too many drinks in Wales led to signing up for a half marathon is still lost on me...
