Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2021, a student I taught passed away on his way to school. Some other school staff and I ran a race - some a 10km, and some a half marathon - to raise money to support his family and a charity of their choice. That was the longest run I'd ever done, and I felt incredibly emotional when it was over.
Based on that experience, I set myself the personal challenge of running 10 10km races by the end of 2022. I'm about to achieve that goal on 12th November. However, my biggest regret is not using that challenge to raise some money for well-deserving charities.
Watching snippets of the London marathon a few weeks ago, I thought to myself - why not just give it a go? This time last year, I wouldn't even have thought that. I didn't win a place in the ballot, but then I got to thinking about why I shouldn't try and raise money for a valid and worthwhile cause. So here I am...
The NSPCC do so much amazing work to support children in the UK and across the world. I implore you to take a look at the support they offer ( https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/our-services/ ) and to take a look at some of the real stories about child abuse and how they have helped.
Over the next 6 months, I am going to raise as much as I can through donations and hopefully a few nice little fundraising activities which we can all enjoy.
Thank you for reading my page, and for supporting - however it may be that you choose to.
