On Saturday 18th June 2022 I will be taking part in the Mourne Seven Summits challenge to raise money for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. I know that after you receive the bad news of a cancer diagnosis the doctors and nurses treat you and care for you, and family friends cheer you on, nourish you with kindness and help you to recover. It is less well known that charities such as Cancer Focus NI provide vital services to cancer patients up and down the country to make the cancer journey that little bit more comfortable for all concerned. They help put a smile back on your face in a variety of different ways. So when I step out on the Mournes in a few weeks time I am doing so to express my gratitude to all who restored me to health and helped me to recover. Crucially I am doing so to generate funds so that Cancer Focus NI can continue to help others who receive the bad news. Please help me to help them.
