WellChild helps sick children and their families across the UK. Thinking about it is there any better charity that I would want to raise money for? Although it is a large charity, investing alot of money in research, it is the hands on efforts of its nurses helping out sick children and their families where the true results of WellChild's work can be seen. 

It was while attending a fund raising event in York that I took the plunge and decided that I would take part in the London Marathon. That was in 2009 but injury meant I had to postpone my entry until this year. At the event I met people who had benefited from the care and compassion of WellChild nurses and at that point I had no hesitation in deciding to do the marathon.

I am hoping that my small contribution will do some good for those who deserve it most and also bring a smile to the children in need.
