Story
Never say never but here we are again. I have yet again been roped into organising this spectacular multi day mass walk over treacherous roads and mountains. As my role in Joseph's Goal is now one of an ambassador (that's right ladies and gents, pass me the Ferrero Rocher!) I am duty bound to somehow project manage the whole thing, with thankfully some valiant support this time.
It will be my job not only to walk 58 miles but to somehow co-ordinate the movements of up to 100 others over three days as we head from the banks of the Leeds & Liverpool canal in Wigan, over the top to Barnsley. There is, as ever, a diverse mix of people but we are united in a common goal, to raise money for Joseph's Goal, in the hope that we can find a cure for NKH and prolong the life of everyone's favourite Wigan Athletic mascot and many hundreds and thousands of other children worldwide.
I know there will be lots of similar requests that come your way, but your generosity as a sponsor can never be taken for granted. The last two years' walks have raised a phenomenal £36,000 in EACH YEAR. To get anywhere close to that again would be amazing.
If you can spare a few quid to find a way to sponsor me, it would be massively appreciated by both myself and Joseph's family. There will be laughs, cheers and probably a few beers on this walk but there will also be a lot of pain and suffering and blisters the size of golf balls. But we do it in the hope that we can make a small difference to children's lives.
With thanks
Martin
