Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you know that I have been a supporter of Born Free for years, raising money by doing various running challenges. Which after a while some of you rightfully questioned as 'challenging' for someone who runs quite a bit!

So, last year I fulfilled a lifelong ambition by running the London Marathon, a major physical and mental challenge, but one that also marked the last time I would ask for money for doing a run!

I promised that my next attempt to raise money would be a 'new challenge', pushing myself further physically and mentally. So, here it is and, I hope you agree, it is a fair one for a person scared of heights!

However, as challenges go, it pales into insignificance compared to the challenge Born Free faces in its tireless efforts to protect wild animals, and keep wildlife in the wild.

Over the last two decades, Africa has lost between 30% and 50% of its lions, and today far fewer than 32,000 animals remain.

It is estimated that approximately 3,500 wild tigers remain in the world, and numbers of this iconic species are continuing to decrease

Elephant and Rhino numbers continue to reduce drastically due to continued ivory hunting.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the challenges facing our wildlife today.

Any amount you can donate will make a difference, so please help me in my continued attempt to make even the smallest difference.

Thanks, and see you at the top!
