Story
It was over 20 years ago when I first experienced the exceptional care that the Countess of Brecknock gave, when Rachel's mum was admitted, originally for respite care. Sadly, less than a week later, she lost her long battle with Cancer, with her family by her side.
Since then, I have lost family, friends and colleagues to Cancer, that have spent their last few days in the hospice.
When your family are faced with this devastating disease but you know that we have a hospice where they will receive the best of care and be treated with the upmost dignity and respect, it comforts you in the most difficult time.
The Countess of Brecknock Hospice provides respite and palliative care to adults suffering from life-limiting illness who live in Andover and its surrounding villages or who have a connection with the area, together with comfort and support for their families, friends and carers. We are hugely reliant on voluntary donations to maintain the exceptionally high standard of services and care we provide.
I am doing this crazy challenge to raise as much money as possible for the hospice because, if we don't support them, they won't be there to help us when we need them.
The challenge is only 12 weeks away and I'm training as much as time allows which I'm sure you may have seen on Facebook! I will keep you updated. The support I have received so far has motivated me to get out there, whatever the weather, and train to make sure I am as prepared as possible.
Any donation will be gratefully received. it will help to make a significant difference.
