Story
All those who knew Dunc would know how sport mad he was and what sport meant to him, so what better way to do something in his memory than take up a sporting challenge. He loved his sport and was so competitive whether it be playing football, cricket or even coaching the youngsters including me.
Unfortunately what I thought to be the fittest 64 year old person I knew, sadly got taken so very quickly from us all from this dreadful disease. It just shows that it can happen to anyone which is why I feel so strongly about getting a message out there that can help us all.
It will be an absolute honour to do this for Dunc and I’m so sure he would so appreciate it and probably talk me through how to run it etc, as he did as my coach, mentor, room buddy in 2019. He even pinned my bib number on me at 06.00 in the morning to make sure I was ok on the day of the race. Memories I’ll never forget but it’s my turn to do something for him.
If you all could spare anything you can I’d really appreciate it. I realise times are tough at present so if at the very least I can get the message of bowel cancer across, then that’ll do me. Check, check, check. Finally, Dunc left a legacy and I’m just trying to do my little bit for him and everyone and I’m sure he’d appreciate it.
