Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Liz (Grandma), Kevin (Grandad), Andrew (Uncle) and myself (Daddy) are running the Edinburgh Marathon as a relay team on Sunday 25 May 2014.
Our daughter, Zoe, was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) in September 2011 when she was 3 1/2 years old. Until this happened to our child we had no idea that children could suffer with Arthritis. Arthritis can be a painful and debilitating disease but with the right medication and care symptoms can be well managed allowing many children to lead an active lifestyle.
We are fundraising for SNAC (Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children). SNAC provide a national support network for children with arthritis and their families through the provision of factual, practical and emotional support. It aims to pull together the wider community of affected children in Scotland as well as raise public awareness of childhood arthritis.
SNAC has helped us as a family to get to grips with JIA. They are always available to answer questions on the administration of medication, the emotional hurdles and have a strong emphasis on supporting the whole family.
