Story
The Challenge
In November I’ll be taking on the challenge of climbing the tallest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro (5,895m). For six days I’ll be trekking in high altitude, sleeping in a tent with freezing conditions whilst raising funds for a charity close to my heart called "Saving the Survivors".
The run up leads to; spending my weekends by breaking into my hiking boots and working my way through every energy bar flavour that I can get my hands on to ;). However, every challenge has an element of uncertainty and what I can't prepare for is how well I will cope with the high altitude, though I couldn't be more motivated and determined to reach the summit for this great cause.
The Charity
Who are Saving the Suvirvors? Saving the Survivors are dedicated to treating and caring for endangered wildlife species. Our main focus is on rhino that have survived poaching attempts, but we also routinely work with cheetahs, lions, leopards, African Wilddogs, pangolins and elephants. Most of these animals are being treated in the bush in their natural environment, as transporting them is not always possible and is often extremely stressful. We work throughout Africa but we also offer assistance to endangered species worldwide. With your donation you can directly help Saving the Survivors stop the suffering, heal the hurt and give these majestic and endangered survivors hope and a second chance at life. Please Gift Aid your donation if you are a current UK taxpayer. This gives us an additional 25p for every £1 donated at no additional cost to you and makes a huge difference to our fundraising. Thank you for your time and donations.
