I am running the London Marathon on the 2nd October 2022 to help raise money for  Mary Anne Evans Hospice in Nuneaton.

I am hoping to raise £2,500 for the hospice, which isn't a lot when you think it will cost £2.2 million this year to operate their services, which are provided free of charge to those who need their vital end of life care and support in the local community.

There are three main reasons for me doing this:

1. They are an amazing charity, providing high quality end of life care for people in their own home. They also provide emotional support for family and friends of those who are at the end of life and for anyone struggling with their grief. Their specialist lymphoedema service assesses, treats and supports patients of Warwickshire with lymphoedema secondary to cancer or its treatment.
2. I like a challenge, I need to get from only running 5k once a week to being able to run the whole 26.2 miles.
3. My mum is currently receiving some of the treatment the hospice offers, at another treatment centre, but it is a way of me giving back to the people all over the country who help people like my mum. Thank you to all of them.
