Story

I was 7 years old when My Father Hermann passed away with Leukaemia. We were heartbroken to lose my father at such an early age. My mother, Beryl Hedinger, at the time was only 35 and was left with two boys to bring up on her own.  She never stopped loving my father and spoke about her love for him constantly until the day she died, also of Cancer at the age of Seventy Two.

Unfortunately in the days of my Fathers illness, there was never the support there is today with Macmillan and I believe they offer wonderful support for Cancer sufferers and their families today.

My Wife's brother Chris Arens, who unfortunately I never met, died with Lung Cancer.  He and his family were given wonderful support by the Macmillan Nurses.
