Story
I am participating in this year's Great North Run on 11 September 2016 to raise funds for the RSPB's Investigations Team who work to tackle illegal killing of birds of prey.
I will add 50% of any money raised, but will double the donation if I run it over an hour and forty five minutes!
Despite legal protection, offences against wild birds continue and every year the RSPB receives over 500 reports of wild bird crime, with many more incidents reported to the police and other agencies.
Some of our most iconic species including peregrine falcons, golden eagles, red kites, goshawks and hen harriers are still being shot, poisoned or their nests are destroyed.
There is no place for these crimes in the UK in the 21st century. I am incredibly proud to work alongside a dedicated team of investigators and so will bust a gut this September to try to raise the profile of and funds for this work.
Please support me to raise money for our Investigations team so they can continue to help our magnificent birds of prey.
