Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year I completed the Great North Run Solo challenge following the cancellation of the 2020 Great North Run.
After 40 runs I ran a total of 340 miles in the space of 10 weeks and helped raise funds in memory of a very special volunteer named Roger Cottrell, who sadly passed away last summer. Roger, like many volunteers I've been fortunate to have worked with made me feel very welcome in my previous job. I've since relocated and got settled into a new role at Fell Foot Park where I'm privileged to work with a lovely group of colleagues, volunteers and people from our Fell Foot/ Active Base community.
As the day quickly approaches my race number which was deferred from last year has finally come up and I'm very proud to once again be fundraising for a very essential cause. After coming very close to being made redundant last year it feels as if my role at Fell Foot has given me a new lease of life. On that topic, a defibrillator can also provide a new lease of life (literally) so this year I'm hoping to raise funds that will go towards the purchase of defibrillators for Fell Foot.
The site facilitates a number of sporting activities including Park Run, swimming, rowing and sailing so any help towards this fundraising will enable future events to continue to operate safely as well as enhance the safety of all visitors who come to Fell Foot. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to completing this run for a very worthy cause.
