Since I started volunteering at Manchester Central Food Bank, I have learnt of the importance and need for food banks in our local community. Last year, across the North West, 96,101 emergency food parcels were given out by Trussell Trust food banks and use of food banks has risen by 13% across the country. Manchester Central Foodbank is a student-led charity serving emergency food to people in crisis. We work with over 100 professional front-line care organisations to give clients 3 days of food as well as help to get them out of their crisis. We are part of the Trussell Trust network.
