Reading Rotary Virtual Santa Run 2020 · 22 December 2020

The seventh Reading Santa Run allows people of all abilities to complete a safe fun run of any length and anywhere, and at any time between 1st December and 31st December 2020. Families and friends can get together to run in their own safe bubbles.

Story

Martha has been taking part in Santa Run since she was four. This year was going to be no exception. The global pandemic wasn't going to stop her and she was keen to sign up to run the virtual Reading Santa Run being held this year. Unfortunately, a few months back, Martha began experiencing pain in her leg joints. Her condition is still in the process of being diagnosed and I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at the Royal Berkshire for doing all that they can to get to the cause of her pain. Being the warrior she is, Martha wanted to go ahead and complete Santa Run anyway, so she can raise money for those less fortunate. The money raised will go to projects run locally and also globally by the Rotary Club of Reading. Given her joint pain, Martha will be completing this year's run on her scooter. Her uncle and cousins will be running alongside her 'virtually' in their hometown of Ramsgate. I'd like to thank them too for supporting Martha in this way.
